WELCOME TO KENT GARDEN CLUB

Who We Are

Since 1913, Kent Garden Club (KGC) has promoted the love of gardening through education and community service. We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is:

  • to aid in the conservation and restoration of Michigan’s natural resources and wildlife; to encourage an active interest in civic beautification; and to improve roadsides and parks.

  • to support Michigan botanical gardens and horticultural centers for the advancement of science and the enjoyment and education of the public.

  • to advance the study of horticultural education, environmental issues, floral design, and landscape design.

  • to provide education, resources, and networking opportunities for club members to promote the love of gardening floral design, landscape design, and environmental responsibility.

Whether you’re a beginner or a Master Gardener, we welcome you to join us for a meeting or event - you’ll see there’s a place for you here!

What We Do

It’s all about Enhancing Our Environment: Education…Conservation…Community. Our members are learning to forge new, environmentally friendly paths in our gardening practices through monthly programs that reflect this theme. Members develop and share their gardening knowledge and skills through:

  • hands-on learning

  • floral design workshops

  • active engagement in Community Outreach projects that help our community reap the benefits of gardening - we volunteered 1,500 hours in 2025!

  • being ‘in the dirt’ together - it’s a great way to get to know each other and offers time to share our gardening knowledge!
